Frank's Italian Restaurant

"If you want great authentic Italian food, eat here!! Skip OG and the other chains and enjoy similar prices (or better), better variety and so much better food from this family-owned and run restaurant. Frank's has great customer service and delicious homemade marinara, dough and desserts based on my experience. Jordan was our server and was incredible! Not only was she attentive, but she provided great recommendations and was open about what was and was not made in-house from true Italian family recipes. We ordered the garlic knots...I know what you're thinking- yeah, yeah, everyone has those, but no joke, these are without a doubt the freshest, best tasting garlic knots I've ever had! The marinara sauce to dip them in was phenomenal. We ordered the Italiano pizza and wow- delicious! It is apparent they make the dough in-house and use fresh ingredients. Again, I couldn't help but dip the crust in that homemade marinara...and then I took some of my wife's because I couldn't get enough! Jordan told us of two homemade desserts (they have others she said are very food but not made in-house) and I chose the Limoncello Cake. I've never had it and was afraid it was too lemony, but it was not and was absolutely fantastic!! The next time we are in the area, we'll be going again. I cannot express how much we enjoyed the whole dinner experience; excellent food and service in a very clean restaurant with reasonable prices...what's not to love? Try it- you will be glad you did!!"

"I have always gotten a good amount of food for the price @ Frank's in the past. Just ordered takeout and when I got home realized that they are looking at a $11 salad a different way. I am not pleased and will probably not return."

"Oh wow. Italians might be angry if they realize the pizza here is called 'Italian'. I've never seen pizzas with undercooked tomatoes, whole olives, or largely chopped antichokes. Maybe the buffet is much better than the whole pizza. Definitely not going back..."

"I ordered my son a kids spaghetti. The spaghetti had little to no sauce & no meat. The noodles were dry & were sticking together. I ordered myself a Supreme Stromboli with meat sauce for dipping, they said that they didn't have meat sauce, just marinara; I added an extra one. The marinara was ice cold like it had been sitting in the fridge. And after eating half my Stromboli, I found blonde hair inside my Stromboli. I just threw it in the trash after that. My fiance wanted to order himself something but decided not when he asked for 2 common Italian dishes, & the lady said they didn't offer neither. The Franks in my hometown (Danville, Va) is excellent, authentic, fresh, & has a variety of dishes & sauces on their menu. This particular one in Roanoke, VA is the absolute WORST restaurant I've ever experienced! I wanted to return it but they had closed by the time I got back to my hotel & opened my food. I would not recommend this Location."

"Went to the Williamson Rd location to eat for the first time and it wasn't bad. The garlic knots were a little tough if you like them softer and the Alfredo didn't have enough flavor for me. The shrimp with the noodles was cooked very well with a great "grilled taste" and the Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich was really good. While the servers were nice, it wasn't busy in-house when we went, but our table was not visited again after our food was placed on our table until we asked for our check at the end.
