Additionally with Marta, I also experienced what I call the "white-glove / red-carpet." I call her "Magical Marta" because the "Blended Method" she used on me produced the permanent hair removal that I wasn't getting with other procedures/professionals. Disclaimer: I'll state up front, I am not in this profession. I am not compensated for writing any review. It's ironic that, in Marta's profession, if she does her job well (and she does!), then she won't ever see her clients again. That is to say, her clients don't need to come back! Good for you, the client! Sad for her! Reward her as I am doing here! Justification: I am simply a deeply-appreciative client who finally got the results she (I) needed. If you are one who fastidiously does her research on methods, who wants the results, and who needs the effective treatments in a safe, clean, discrete, welcoming, and pleasant environment, then you need look no further! "Magical Marta." Explanations and Pointers for your decision... Thermolysis Method: Before going to Marta, I had been getting Thermolysis elsewhere (I emphasize, not through Marta). This is how I understand the process that I experienced personally. Essentially, Thermolysis uses a Probe (fine needle) that gets inserted into the hair follicle where the needle tip is "energized" to over-heat and burn/kill the root. At that point, the hair and its release root/shaft should simply and easily lift out with the typically-immediate tweezing. If you feel pain when tweezing, then the root was not adequately zapped and, most assuredly, the hair will regrow (and require re-treatment $$$). Let me warn you that Thermolysis hurts a whole lot more than the "blended method" even if you use numbing cream. (I'll touch on numbing cream further down.) Blend Method: Blend combines a gentler level of Thermolysis with a Galvanic/chemical reaction to jointly destroy the hair follicle. "Galvanic" introduces a very small electrical charge that converts natural skin salts and water to destroy the hair follicle. It is a very mild, unnoticeable electric charge at the probe tip. Essentially, Blend "double-zaps" the hair follicle with one zap of heat (thermolysis) and one zap of chemical (Galvanic), together occurring approximately at the same time. On the down side, Blend takes about 6 times longer per hair than straight Thermolysis! Ugh! Hydrate: Hydrate is a MUST for Blend method. Friend, drink your water, please! So, What worked or didn't work for me: Thermolysis needed many re-treatments to the same areas. After several years of Thermolysis, roughly twice a month, I had skin damage and many hairs still re-appearing! Blend is where "Magical Marta" rescued me! Marta used the Blend on my chin and philtrum and the hairs stopped returning. There was no additional skin damage to what I already had (before "Magic Marta"). Cost: Face it (pardon the pun), this is not inexpensive. You are worth it! Blend takes longer, but is the better value! Numbing: In a word, Lidocaine! Over the Counter (OTC) topical analgesic creams can go up to 5% Lidocaine. Two OTC creams, "Numb 52" (on-line) and "Recticare" (CVS-brand, cream for hemorrhoid relief). Finally, why Magic Marta? Marta produces great results. Minimal pain and redness (unavoidable, but temporary). She's honest, ethical, cares about all her clients.
