"I recently moved from the area. This was one of my favorite locations next the Sheridan Drive store. I never had a problem until one day in April I had a VERY racist experience. While standing in line at the deli a middle aged white female approached the counter while talking on her cell phone totally disregarding the line. Suddenly the senior white female deli employee starts helping her. I politely implied I was next. I didn't expect much from the middle aged white customer she was wearing lipstick trying to hide a lip full of cold sores AKA herpes simplex virus. I expected more from the employee as she knew there was a line. They both looked at me like I said nothing and the employee turned to the customer and asked what would she like. I couldn't believe it. I refuse to spend my money where I'm not respected. I put my anticipated purchases down and walked away. On the way out I asked for a manager. She was a heavily built white female. I explained to her what just happened and coincidentally the customer who witnessed it chimed in and confirmed how I was treated considering I was next in line. The manager claimed she would speak to the employee. I didn't feel any sincerity in what she said based on her tone and lack of empathy. I NEVER returned to that location. Too afraid of what I might say if I recognize that employee. I strive to adhere to a quote from our former First Lady, Michelle Obama... "when they go low, you go high""
"Big tops! Near UB campus so a lot of students come here as well as the campus mall and shuttles stops here. Great items and great weekly savings. Get the tops bonus card. If you don’t have it then don’t worry, you can ask the staff and they will help you with it."
"I’m visiting in the area and stopped in to but a few things. Supermarket is clean and well organized. Staff that I interacted with were very friendly and helpful. Only complaint I have is that it is a bit pricey. But you will definitely find everything you need here."
