Lilys Chocolate & Coffee

"This was my 3rd visit to Lily's chocolate & and coffee. I took my aunt, and she LOVED IT! The first time I went was with my son and wife, who were here to visit during the holidays from California. We went to the one in old Town Alexandria which is also super cute, only issue is parking, but that's pretty much the pain everywhere in Old town I do not have enough words to say how amazing, cute, and extremely delicious everything is in here, specially the Biscoff Lockma (my favorite) also the pistachio lockma is delicious as well.. all of them! Lol and the chocolate cover strawberries are amazing, too. Service is top-notch! The environment is super cozy, and the shop is super cute. You will want to take pictures on every corner. "Five stars for cuteness! All pink and even with a wall perfect for taking photos by. The name is misleading though because they don’t have chocolates. They have chocolate flavored foods and chocolate topping, but I didn’t see any salted caramel chocolates or truffles! They do have dairy free alternatives to their lattes. There is also a vegan lockma option. The lockma is basically yeast donut holes but not as sweet. Didn’t satisfy the donut craving. I ordered a peppermint mocha latte but I couldn’t taste peppermint and the mocha wasn’t good either. It almost had a burnt taste. Parking is terrible because it’s right at a stop light and there’s minimal spaces available. They’ve got the looks, but there’s just something lacking. It’s the kind of place you take friends just to socialize and be cute, not because you love their food."

"Got a variety 8 piece lockma to share and it was incredible. Warm fried dough and perfectly matched toppings. Coffee is good, atmosphere is quiet and chill. Great place to study for a couple hours!!"

"Great service. Nicest young lady behind the counter taking pity on us when we knew nothing about Iraqi sweets. Desserts like very precise and elegant like in the Korean bakeries. She let us get two flavors with the eight piece which was awesome. I could have eaten half myself but gotta bring back stuff to the Teen monsters. Cardamom latte is delicious but watch out for the coffee grounds like texture of the cardamom. I’d suggest more finely ground but maybe it’s an iraqi style. Hot chocolate is rich! Tried my husband’s like European drinking chocolate and you can get the dark. Really fun surprise stop. They have a cute afternoon tea set up too if you like that sort of thing. Very pink decor."
