"Love it here. What a lovely time we had for NYs eve. Stayed over for two nights. The room was cozy and the view spectacular. Went for a hike and it started to snow. It was beautiful setting to be in. Had great breakfasts and lunch. Also the homemade bicuits are sooo good... Not to the level of Chef Michaels croissants but noteworthy. C'mon LM make the croissants again (if you read the reviews)."

"My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful Christmas weekend at your cabin. We had not been to Lydia in a couple of years and were truly surprised by the intimacy of Mountain View Hideaway. Your cabin gave us the opportunity to re connect and romance each other in ways that are difficult to do when at home with distractions. "READ this review before making any reservations with Lydia Mountain lodge and cabin! I wished I read the negative reviews before making any reservations! My recent experience at Lydia Mountain Lodge and Log Cabins was nothing short of a holiday disaster, tarnishing what should have been a joyful Thanksgiving getaway. Here's a detailed breakdown of the myriad issues we encountered: 1- False Advertisement and Management Fiasco: We initially booked a luxury cabin, lured in by the picturesque images on their website. However, upon arrival, we were shocked to find a completely different, subpar cabin awaiting us. After numerous unanswered calls to the management, we had to drive to their office, only to be informed that the advertised cabin was already occupied. The compensation? A refund and a stay in a tiny, hastily arranged cabin that took THREE hours to sort out, which ruined our holiday and thanksgiving party! 2- Dismal Cabin Quality and Deceptive Charges: The cabin we were relegated to was a study in poor quality. Torn sofas, cheap kitchen supplies, and old, unusable cookware filled the space. Despite promises of a complimentary stay, we were shockingly charged the same amount for this inferior cabin upon checkout. Even though, their receptionist confirmed that we were told the promises of a complimentary stay, Tiffany, a staff member, rudely denied any prior commitments and treated us with blatant disrespect. 3-Unacceptable Customer Service and Racist Incident: Attempts to reach the manager, Tina, were futile, and when seeking clarification at the office, Tiffany and another staff member were shockingly rude and displayed racist behavior. I have been living more than one decade in the US and I have NEVER EVER experienced such a racist behavior before! This unexpected and appalling treatment is inexcusable, revealing a need for a complete overhaul of both the managerial system and staff. 4- Disastrous Restaurant Experience: Hoping to salvage some enjoyment, we decided to have brunch at their restaurant. However, what followed was a EXACTLY one-hour wait for a simple meal consisting mainly of eggs and pancakes. The portion sizes were inadequate, with my order of three-layer pancakes reduced to three miniature pancakes! The overall food quality was abysmal, leaving everyone at the table frustrated and disappointed. In conclusion, Lydia Mountain Lodge and Log Cabins not only failed to meet the basic standards of service and accommodation, but they also subjected us to a cascade of disappointments, terrible customer service, and an appalling incident of racism! This experience was not only a Thanksgiving ruined but also a stark reminder to potential customers to exercise extreme caution before considering this establishment."

"Absolutely amazing experience staying at Mountain View Hideaway. It was clean, cozy, and the views were breathtaking. Close enough to Shannondoah National Park for a day of hiking, but remote enough to truly kick back and relax while in the hit tub. 10/10"

"This review is more about a staff member named Joshua who went out of his way and above and beyond to help me with a problem that was completely my fault. Property itself was magnificent and accommodations fantastic but real magic is the staff. Management has done well in cultivating a friendly and helpful climate and that is really what it is all about. We will be back!"
