"After Dr. Patel cancelled my appointment and being told to follow up in 4 weeks, impossible to reschedule got the run around. Staff needs to be properly trained and to be sensitive to patient needs."

"Dr. Nunez and Lorena are amazing. They always listen and give very informed information. They are supportive and treat me like a person. The staff is always friendly and accomodating!"

"After an office visit (February 2020) with Dr. Melfi, I was charged an additional $100 out-of-pocket for him to spend five minutes looking at my CGM data (in addition to my co-pay and standard office visit charges). I was never informed at the time of my visit that this “service” would be billed separately; historically, this review was ALWAYS included in my co-pay and covered office charge. I contacted office staff (Diane O’Keefe) to ask why I was never informed, and my emails were ignored. Atlantic Health corporate also refused to provide any remediation, with corporate compliance officer Cindy Hartmann in essence admitting on a recorded phone conversation that Atlantic Health physicians can charge patients for services without telling them."

"The first doctor we worked with was lovely, but she left. The second doctor we worked with had an online/zoom appointment with my daughter, during which the doctor scheduled an in-person follow up. We later learned the appointment hadn’t actually been scheduled, and my daughter is leaving for college and can’t get an appointment, which is an issue for her prescription needs. I’ve spoken to office staff over the phone on multiple occasions over the past year. Without fail they have been dismissive and rude, fail to return calls, decidedly NOT helpful. We are done with this group. Please hire new office staff who aren’t condescending and impatient. You treat people like irritating customers rather than human beings with legitimate needs."

"If I could give them no zero's I would. Very poor patient care or non-existent. Tried since May to get pre-authorization for insulin b/c of insurance coverage change. When I had to call for the PA, the message said it takes 10 days. That was months ago. Gave the new insurance info & updated profile online but no one listened to the message thoroughly and put the PA through old insurance. Trying to resolve but no one will take the call and they keep making the front desk try and resolve it. Can't speak with anyone in clinical, a nurse or a supervisor. Apparently the "nurse" who handles my PA has been "out this week" although I've called her since June with no response. I started this whole journey as a very nice patient, who had patients for a staff who is essentially running a patient mill for a hospital who profits off of these types of centers, but now I'm just disgusted and out of patience. This place is just awful. At the end of the day I did manage to get a nurse on the phone who, instead of an apology or a sincere we want to help just said "well, no one called us back to tell us we put it through the wrong insurance until now" - even though I had been working on this everyday for a week straight and started this process months ago. You know what, if the person who took the message about the PA had earnestly listened to the message and took down the details that my insurance had changed and an alert was set informing the person doing the PA that I had been in my profile updating my insurance information I would have never had to call back or listen to you tell me how this was my fault b/c I didn't continue to do your follow up work."
