Capitol Square Apartments

"Do not live here under any circumstances. There are mice, roaches, mold, and terrible structural issues with the buildings. Half the units here do not have heat. The roofs are caving in. Management does not care. The only times they've ever responded to us were the times we threatened to take legal action. Most recently, we tried to submit notice to quit and they refused to reply until after we'd called code enforcement, and then they tried to send someone to patch up the issues just before enforcement came. There are more than a dozen complaints being brought against them in court next week. Code enforcement told us that the owners will lose their license to rent when it's up for renewal next month. Even once management accepted our notice, they tried to prevent us from being accepted somewhere else by refusing to verify our residency. Please believe the bad reviews. There are children here getting sick from black mold and exposure to pests and management does not care. They are well aware of the problems and never answer or do anything. They count on people being too poor to move or hire a lawyer to be able to escape from here. This place is predatory and vile. Find somewhere else to go."

"Like she stated below, if I could give zero stars, I would. These people wasted my two weeks of preparation having to move in on the 30th. Then they changed my application to September 29 when I move out of my current apartment on the 30th. They refused to give me back my application fee. And I had to get a refund on my insurance because they are not paying attention to who they approve on their applications. They canceled my application because I was frustrated because they didn’t communicate with me about the inconvenient change. Now I’m having to start all over and find another apartment when I could’ve been had something else, so they totally wasted my time I would not recommend living here because they are unprofessional and scammers"

"If I could give it 0 stars, I would. Infested with mice. Even the exterminator was surprised when she learned my unit was still infested. I couldn’t wait for my lease to end. Also, an issue with water bugs. The mice became a problem when the tenants downstairs moved out. No exaggeration but I literally caught 8 mice in less than 2 days and it’s been worst since. Maintenance came and “SEALED” all of the holes. Emphasis on “SEALED” I seen mice that same night. My last straw was last night it was a mouse in MY BED! MY LAST DAY HERE IS FRIDAY. IF YOU CAN MOVE ELSEWHERE DO THAT THIS IS NOT THE PLACE. It is much more I can say"

"For years, this place has been leaving delinquent notices and court summons on my fathers bill for the apartment. He was told that he can pay ahead of time so avoid being late, and that’s what he started doing, until his payments started going missing or people from the rental office telling him that he didn’t submit a payment! It got so bad that he actually had to be credited because he was actually being charged more than what he was supposed to pay! There are mice and bugs everywhere and the building is older than me. You call the office for any of your needs, you will be waiting a couple days before you can even get a response back. I am highly dissatisfied With Capitol square and I think that those tenants who have been here and payed their rent diligently, should not be facing these issues. Something seriously needs to be done."

"By far one of the worst places I've lived in. If I can summarize it into a three words: Roaches, rats and court summons. I was summoned to court for paying 3 days late. They have a system that automatically considers you delinquent if you don't pay on time. That is on top of the roach and rat families that live here. A lot of people who live here were at court with me. Management is terrible. The last girl quit the new one is lost and overwhelmed with all the work that she doesn't cash in the checks for rent. The poor hispanic family in front of me left and so did other people including myself. The roach infestation was so bad they were fining people $500 if they didn't get roach bombs thrown in even those who didn't have them. I was beginning to get sick I left for 3 weeks because of breathing problems. I'm about to move out in a week and I still have another court summons to go to and as usual people from Capitol were there. While I was moving our neighbors said that a lot people were moving because management was so bad. Please do NOT LIVE HERE. I heard the rats playing behind my stove on my last day there. If you don't believe me call them and see if they pick up. I had to pretend to me a new customer to get a response back."
