She also was kind enough to help us contact her colleagues, which was wonderful. I cannot say enough wonderful things about my many conversations with her and how helpful she was! Her service and assistance was top-notch, and it gave me a wonderful feeling about the company as a whole!"

"I would NOT recommend renting with Burkentine. While living at Franklin Square, I submitted a ticket to have my front door repaired - and their maintenance employee (without approval) entered my apartment to use my restroom and did not wash his hands (when I was out of town). They defended him and claimed it was because they don't have an on-site office with a restroom for their employees to use - which is not my problem. Then, their administrative team withheld my security deposit for more than 30 days after I moved out, which is against PA laws - they refuse to answer any email or communication to resolve."

"My family just moved to a Burkentine property just last week. We have been thoroughly impressed by our experience. Dane has been absolutely amazing to work with. Being new construction, he was always on top of everything. Any questions I have had were answered honestly and we knew exactly what to expect during the entire process. Moving in was easy and the apartment is absolutely beautiful! I had an emergency with our door lock, Dane and Will were on the situation in a matter of minutes. The professionalism that was shown was absolutely outstanding! I was locked out on my own with 2 small children and Dane and Will made sure to not leave me by myself and got the job done very quickly. I have rented for a very long time, and Will is the first maintenance professional to value my safety in a situation like that. Dane stayed with me and my children in the hallway the entire time and that absolutely went above and beyond anything I expected. Keep up the great work Burkentine! You have amazing employees on your hands! Very much looking forward to our time here!"

"My husband and I had a great experience with Burkentine Properties. When we moved to Hanover we were unable to find a house - the housing market beat us up! But, Burkentine was right there ready to receive us, welcome us, make a home for us. Everything with Burkentine Properties was easy and smooth sailing. They were extremely attentive to our needs. We valued their dependability. They were kind, pleasant, and jovial. We did end up buying a house recently, and moved out of a Burkentine property at the end of July. We received our full security deposit. We are very grateful for the experience with Burkentine."

"I'm giving this two stars because I think 1 star reviews should be reserved for true roach-infested slums. We moved into a brand new townhome at Gettysburg Ridge in Sept 2020. Everything seemed to be okay and everyone was nice. Early warning signs were the dent on the fridge and the doors that wouldn't fully close or open and outlets that never worked. It was clearly hastily built with cheap products despite charging a premium rent of $1,700. They kept saying "you won't be charged for that" (broken/dented appliances/doors) when I move out, but that makes no sense. I AM being charged for it because this is billed as a new luxury townhome and it is not. The paint and carpet are as cheap as they come and the floors would creak badly when walking on them, which is a nightmare with a newborn baby. I'm attaching a few photos to illustrate how cheap this place is. The outdoor "yard" is still a work in progress after nearly 2 years. The sidewalk is chipping apart, which is dangerous for little toddlers to pick up chipped concrete and try to eat. Not to mention the shoddy appearance. The kitchen counter is slowly moving millimeter by millimeter further from the wall. I kept telling them that this would lead to moisture getting into the back of the wall but they ignored it and said "you won't get charged for that". All along the stairs and molding there are large cracks from the foundation settling. I understand this happens, but these cracks were large and very noticeable and not what I should be seeing in a "premium" rental unit with such a high monthly charge. Regarding the office, the customer service from Macy was terrible. She actually made fun of me for not reading every little detail of the contract, otherwise I would have seen that their "60 day break" policy isn't actually 60 days and can be as much as 90 day notice. My fault for trusting her at her word. I guess I am stupid for that. This is after a year and a half of us paying rent on time with no complaints from anyone and not submitting any non-emergency work tickets. Zero respect for good tenants. To top things off, they charge additional fees/fines without warning. Mid-contract, we were told we would be charged 60 cents to pay via direct deposit or a $50 fee to handle a mailed check. 60 cents! What a bunch of cheapskates. We're paying $1,700 a month just comp the 60 cent fee. And they ding you 60 cents for paying utilities too. There is no way to get out of this stupid fee. They also send notices mid-lease about additional charges that you will incur that you can't get out of, such as the pet cleaning fee. To be fair, they ended up not charging us for this, but why send the notice a few days before move out? But this stuff is par for the course for Burkentine, nickel and diming every tenant and terrible communicators. There are better options around. Avoid Burkentine and their cheap, overpriced rental units and unprofessional staff."
