"This Motel still stands but the phone number is a 410 area code and connects to a land sales office down east not the Motel on 10900 Mason Rd NE Cumberland Maryland east of Cumberland"

"The location is super easy to find off the highway. I arrived late in the evening but there was clear sign on the office door letting me know how to check in. Robert was very friendly at check-in and Barbara was friendly and professional on the phone when I called to make my reservation. The room was a lot bigger than I expected! Besides the typical bed and desk, there was also a love seat near the tv and a cafe table with two chairs. The shower was not a tub, BUT it was large (had two seats inside it). In a good way, I felt like I was staying over at my great aunt Georgene's house...meaning, the room had a homey feel like I was a family guest. Yes, the decor is not updated (wood panelling and frilly bed spreads just like an older lady's home would have) but more importantly it was CLEAN and smelled nice and there was good insulation between the rooms (I never heard the guest in the room next door). The towels were most definitely new -- some of the fluffiest I have ever had at a hotel or motel (ritzy Marriotts included). Overall, I had such a pleasant stay at the Cumberland Motel and for the price, it can't be beat!"

"We stayed last night. It's away from the town so we didn't really get to see anything, except when we were driving through. It's also adjacent to a very nice cemetery, which could encourage some and inhibit others. There was a nice restaurant on the other side of the Interstate, but we did not go there. When I checked in, the office was closed and there was a sign explaining to go to Room 1 to check in. Room 1 smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. I filled out the paperwork and handed him $58 cash. A couple menus were in our room for companies that actually deliver that far out of town. The deli place that we ordered two salads and a pizza did not include napkins or forks. The beds were clean but old and the walls were paper-thin. We went to sleep listening to our next door neighbor playing some light jazz. Check-out was super-easy -- turn off everything electric and leave the key in the room."

"It was wonder, lady in front office was sweet. Rooms are very clean and cheap. Would definitely come back. Scott and Jessica from Ohio"

"this is one of several 50’s era mom-and-pop motels along this stretch of highway in Maryland. Price is comparable to most motel chains (Motel 6, etc), building is old but well maintained considering its age. Old lady was patient and helpful when we checked in at the desk. Definitely a good alternative to the hotels in the Cumberland downtown area."
