Parrando's Tex-Mex Grill

"Fish tacos were extremely thin, overcooked pieces of fish that had very little 'slaw, a small amount of house/specialty sauce, and hardly warmed corn tortillas making the overall experience dry. The rice on the fish taco platter was lukewarm at most and the beans were literally cold. They mistook no chili for no cheese and rice instead of fries. The steak burrito had only meat and tortilla. Overall: highly priced food (avg of $17-$22 per item) for a below average experience."

"Went there with 3 friends for dinner. Atmosphere was good, new and clean. Menu had lots of excellent options and the place smelled delicious! It wasn't terribly busy, and the service was good, not perfect but good. We all ordered different things (trio platter, shrimp salad, burritos and chimichangas), and they all looked amazing and tasted great. The portions were plentiful and we all felt very satisfied. I could have used a chocolate dessert but that wasn't on the menu so i skipped the sweets. Overall really good experience. Will go back with my wife."

"Stopped in for dinner for the first time. Greeters and servers were terrific. The food was very fresh and offered several vegetarian options. Meals not too heavy despite all being served with a generous portion of rice and beans. The flan was fantastic. Fyi closes early.."

"Overall not bad. Seems to be a mix between a sit down restaurant and a chain fast food place. 3.5 stars. Service was excellent and food was decent. About $17 per person for just the entrées. For that price you get a medium amount of warm food with not a ton of flavor. The meat in the burritos just tasted like tomato marinade and the fish burrito was too rich and cheesy. Nothing to write home about."

"Staff and customer service is amazing. Food is delicious and high quality. Their Vegetable Burrito was such a pleasant surprise with fresh chopped vegetables. Most other places use peppers and cheese while Parrando's has squash and zucchini. It was great having Mexican food that wasn't covered in sauces. Their dishes are clean and presentable (and even better not in a puddle of sauce). Tamale Cakes are so delicious! A must try for sure. Vegetarians should be aware, not all staff is on the same page on their vegetarian sides. The refriens bean are not vegetarian and neither is the Mexican rice but the black beans and white rice are. Definitely visit this small business located at Cupcake Heaven's old location in Haymarket."
