"Despite having a referral from your PCP, they will not call you, you have to call them. Then, you have to wait for your new patient paperwork to be “reviewed” at the office’ leisure and only then are THEY supposed to call you to set up an appointment which you are advised might be another week, but then surprise to no one, they still don’t call you to schedule anything anyway. Their Policy/Procedures > Your Health If you have a loved one that you don’t want to watch suffer in agony with concerning symptoms FOR WEEKS and you tell them this, don’t even try to go here. Just take the drive to Johns Hopkins, where you will receive actual help from people who actually care. Thanks for doing absolutely nothing for my family."

"Very unprofessional front desk staff. They ask you 1,000 questions until they find a reason to deter you from becoming a patient at the office. This office could truly use some refresher courses."

"I agree, Margaret at the front desk is turning business away. Was seen in the ER with a complaint of chest pain and globus sensation in my throat. After cat scans and xrays, I was diagnosed with acid reflux and a suspected stomach ulcer given a referral from the ER and Primary care doctor to follow up with a GI doctor. Upon calling the office, I was greeted professionally until she received more information from me. The first questions was, who referred you, and have you seen your primary care. I answered yes to both. She begins to ask for my name and DOB and looked at my address. She says, you live in columbia, isnt that across the bridge? I've seen my primary care provider and there are no appointments for GI doctrors in my area until March. Who wants to feel like a lump is in their throat until March? Although I live in columbia, I travel for work and am currently apart of a midwifery practice in Berlin, Md. At this point. She proceeded to so, you're primary care doctor is supposed to manage your symptoms and then if not you come t us. Well, had she asked for my diagnoses and cat scan information, she would know that my primary care doctor actually cannot manage this. I knew she was doing all she could to prevent me from making an appointment. I immediately asked to speak to the office manager. She sarcastically mentioned "She's going to tell you the same thing" I said okay and awaited the office manager. 5 mins later she gets back on the line to say "The office manager is on a phone call, I will tell her to call you back." I asked for her name and a good time to call back. In the mean time, she's trying to have a power struggle by stating "I've been here for 18 years etc". Well maybe your time is up! Word of advice, be very careful the verbiage you use towards people because you do not know who is in what field. Had I not been in healthcare and didn't have the knowledge I have, she would have been able turn me away. The entire phone call was filled with lies. Please trust every negative review."

"I recently had an endoscopy and colonoscopy at this office. I was nervous about my procedure and I was put at ease by the calming nurse I had getting me ready the moment I walked through the back doors. The entire staff at this point was so amazing, including the doctor and I cannot say enough good things about them. As far as the front desk and staff prior I can only give them 4 stars. The whole process felt a bit colder and it had me worried. The communication is somewhat of a breakdown but once I started using my online portal with the nurse it was easier and the communication improved 100%. I would definitely recommend this practice."

"Great staff and over the 4 years I went here never had to wait too long to talk to a real person. They make the insurance part seem like a breeze too. Dr. John was the best GI I have ever seen, ans I would have continued if I hadn't moved."
