"If you love your fur baby, this is the place to take them when they need to see a vet! Dr. Rutar has taken care of 3 of my boxer babies! We followed her from another local veterinary practice (also excellent) and their care at VCA Herndon has been top notch with up-to-date equipment, practice and care! The techs and staff are caring, helpful and understanding of your stress when your little one isn't feeling well! Highly recommended!"

"We've been with them for about 3 years and they always took good care of our senior pup, but what compelled me to write a review was the compassion we received when it was time to let her go. I have never had to put a dog down, so I called a couple of times to learn about the process and prepare myself as our sweet Maggie reached a turning point in her health. Each time I called, the front desk staff transferred me to a knowledgeable and compassionate staff member who took her time to answer all of my questions. When the day arrived, they were patient, sympathetic, kind, and professional. Today we received a card with hand written condolences from the staff and a paw print from our sweet girl (which we totally forgot to do before her passing), and I'm literally writing this review through grateful tears. In our book they're all top notch humans, and we're forever grateful for their compassion."

"The staff here is amazing and caring. They go above and beyond in caring for pets which is evident in how they treat them in the exam room and lobby. I've been taking my dog to see Dr. Sheldon for over a year and she has been amazing with her communication, knowledge, and advice when dealing with stressful health issues. VCA Herndon-Reston continues to raise my confidence in the VCA network as well, having previously taken my dog to one of their San Antonio locations."

"Lacking in compassion, awful - I called between 5-6pm on October 20, 2023, to ask if they had refrigeration space for our puppy, who died suddenly that day. Our regular vet did not have space to refrigerate her from Friday (Oct 20) until Monday (Oct 23), when a necropsy could be conducted so that we could determine the cause of death. This is important to figure out because we have other dogs who could come across the same hazard, if it was environmental. The person that answered the phone was completely unsympathetic. They were the only person I called that evening who did not offer condolences, and remained robotic and even peppy throughout the call. When I explained the situation I was told that VCA reserves their refrigeration space for their regular patients. I offered to pay and they said it didn’t matter, and did not even ask anyone else in the facility if there was a way to make an exception. There was absolutely no compassion in their response at all. It did not matter if they had unused space, they simply would not help. They did not help with refrigeration recommendations either. They were an uncaring robot. I can’t imagine a person who sounded like that having compassion for the pets that are taken to VCA, or any animals, let alone having the ability to fake any kind of bedside manner."

"This place and the people were amazing. Not only were we able to make an apt quick but they were super attentive and helpful. Dirk had a heat sore. Doc followed up making sure my dog was doing great and gave me tips on how to protect his neck so it could heal better. Highly recommend VCA Herndon-Reston!"
