"Posting this review for a colleague... As an attorney, I very rarely write reviews or recommendations. I am now making an exception. Dr. Michelle Samuel at Ocean Veterinary Ophthalmology is truly a gifted vet ophthalmologist. She has been our ophthalmologist since 2019, treating our two Yorkshire Terriers with positive resolutions in each case. Last year we moved 2 1/2 hours from Northern Virginia. Our precious Yorkie developed an eye ulcer. Our new general vet performed 2 procedures on his eye with no correction. He referred us to a vet ophthalmologist specialist in the nearest large city. After performing 2 additional procedures by this eye specialist, still no correction. I feared loss of his eye. Out of desperation, I reached out to Dr. Samuel. Within a few days, she examined our little guy and scheduled a procedure for the following day. Her procedure was successful! Three months later his eye has been corrected and he has successfully recovered. But for the talent, skills, and expertise of Dr. Samuel, we truly believe our little boy may have lost his eye. In the future, I will happily drive the 2 1/2 hours to see her - it is worth every mile. Dr. Samuel is a great credit to herself, her profession, and all the animals’ eyes that she heals and saves. I recommend Dr. Samuel without hesitation."

"Our sweet boy had a reported eye “emergency” back in August that took until November to see Dr. Samuels. Our local veterinarian filled us we fear and worry and did not offer much in the way of solutions or treatments while we waited, BUT Ocean Veterinary Ophthalmology is worth the wait. They were kind, prompt, professional and Dr. Samuels treats that patients where they are. It is not a cookie cutter diagnosis and treatment. She tailored it to meet our kitty’s needs and she explained the plan and made us feel comfortable and more importantly made sure that Ohana was comfortable and has a solid plan moving forward! Highly recommend this place!"

"Dr Samuels and her staff at Ocean Veterinary Ophthalmology we're really friendly and very knowledgeable about helping my diabetic dog when it comes to cataracts and his eyesight. First staff was really great about interacting with my dog and making him feel comfortable and Jene the tech staff was so nice. Truly care about your pet. I recommend if your dog has any problems with eyesight or I issues to bring them to Ocean veterinarian opthamology as I will be returning for future visits. Thank you for explaining everything and all of the professionalism that you gave to my dog."

"I have been taking my two dogs to OVO for a couple months now and I am beyond impressed. They are on time every single time, friendly and caring. I specifically work with Dr.Samuel and she is so kind and knowledgeable. She REALLY know her stuff. The front desk and vet techs are quick and willing to help with anything. I feel like my dogs are very well cared for there. It is worth the 45 minute drive. I highly recommend OVO!!!"
