Clarion Hotel & Conference Center Leesburg

"All the essentials done well, by nice staff that seem to truly be nice, not just acting nice, if you know what I mean. And not just the front desk staff, but also the housekeeping staff and the food service staff all seem to want you to feel welcome. Beds were very comfortable and what we would describe as medium-firm. Our rooms (2) were very clean, water pressure was excellent, in-room refrigerators had a freezer section and were already nicely chilled upon our arrival. The temperature control unit was reasonably quiet. Not a "boutique hotel" but just well-done. Hope to stay there again when returning to Loudoun County, and then hopefully get to sample their SILK restaurant (a mix of Indian cuisine and conventional dishes, per the menu), which had some absolutely delicious-smelling Indian cooking wafting through the hallways near the conference/meeting spaces that they were readying for the day's activities, which we got to enjoy smelling when we were checking out. Also... strongly recommend dealing with them via their Clarion/Choice Hotels website or via the phone, and staying away from services like Priceline. We were having a horrific frustration with Priceline, but thankfully upon switching to dealing directly with A.J. and his co-team at the hotel, they were sensitive to our situation and bent over backwards to get everything straightened-out for us and turn it all into a hugely positive experience. Location is very nice with some pleasant surrounding acreage, just slightly removed from the hustle and bustle of Leesburg and its shopping centers. Also, very convenient (just minutes away) to the huge INOVA Loudoun hospital complex."

"This place needs to be shut down. Immediately. I had been paying to stay there for over 2 weeks, I was asked to leave when I tried to extend my stay. Cancelled my reservation and everything. BOTH, I had made. A new woman I have never seen before ever there, came knocking on my door and asked me to leave, even was on the phone with "corporate" (so she says), and contacted authorities. I did too. She was VERY hostile, wouldn't give me any reasons, I even offered to leave and move rooms, so they could clean, and come back at 3, paid for. Make a new reservation. She refused and continued to YELL at me first, have a threatening attitude. I had been treated WONDERFULLY before she was there that day. Housekeeping was nice, front desk was always nice and accommodating. This lady seriously needs to be fired, and this establishment should just be shut down at this point. Why treat customers like this, why WOULDNT you want money? I have never before been complained about by any other residents, I was always quiet and respectful to staff and others. Never caused any problems. This all happened, out of the blue, for NO apparent reason. I also wasn't the only one to be treated like this. Shut it down, pack it up, close the establishment. Horrible, horrible customer service now and place to stay. Needs many repairs and has roaches, anyways. There are much better places to pay and stay at in Loudoun."

"I reserved a room here because I was in town for a softball tournament. I checked in and immediately checked out. Let me start our by saying the pictures on the website look nothing like the actual room. The pillow cases were yellowish instead of white and the curtains had cigarette burn holes in them. The top sheet had little hairs on them and the hotel smelled like cigarettes. The bathroom wasn't clean either. I stay in hotels atleast 8 times a year and as long they're clean Im fine. It doesn't have to be the Taj Mahal. I was promised a refund on September 9 and still am trying to recover that. The front desk people are very nice. I've emailed the hotel and have spoken to them several times on the phone. I even called corporate. I had to find another hotel to stay in that night. So now I've paid for 2 hotel rooms. Not sure I'll ever get my money back."

"I would give this place zero stars if that were an option. Horrible location, good luck if you want to go somewhere during rush hour. Fire safety hazard. EXTREMELY UNSAFE. Dump had to be evacuated by police because fire alarms weren’t up to date. And if there were a fire the alarms wouldn’t go off. The police even gave them multiple warnings about the fire alarm but no fix. Obviously they don’t care about the safety of their customers. Pool was closed even though it was advertised on website, when we questioned the manager about this, this was her response “it was closed because of corporate but you can use it if you want” … real safe! Horrible customer service. After evacuation no refund was given for staying at an unsafe gross environment. Not only was the refund not given, the general manager Hope DOUBLE charged us for the awful stay. While this lady refused to give the refund she said if I were to call corporate and they gave permission for the refund the refund would be issued. I did in fact call corporate and not only did they give the permission as I was in the phone with them and wad with Hope, they were telling her to give the refund and she refused. Rooms smell like mold and fish. Breakfast is NASTY. I would not even feed my dog this gross “food”. Stains and hair on sheets and beat down furniture. STAY AWAY."

"We used this hotel for our wedding hotel block. I didn't stay there myself so I can only speak for one of our guests that checked in early (1 PM), but was given a dirty room and had to wait for it to be cleaned when they realized it wasn't ready. We were also a little sad to hear that not all our guests received the cookie boxes my mom had gone to a lot of trouble to assemble. Not sure exactly what happened there. But on a positive note, the customer service was excellent. I also appreciated that this hotel is historic, so it's not your cookie cutter chain. Rates were slightly better than elsewhere in this very expensive area."
