Forest Reserve At Smallwood 48 Richard Crumley Drive, Mongaup Valley, NY 12762

"Easy hike. Main loop is maintained... if you try to get to dog park the grass is overgrown and swamp like.... supposedly the town was going to some work at the park, they did not meet their deadline. I went when it was cloudy, might be a cool place to chill in the water on a hot day... I prefer the lakes nearby..."

"The park is very nice. Spacious parking lot. The smalls waterfall is at the very start of the hemlock trail, right by the parking lot. We got lost for an hour doing maple and birch because the signs stopped and we kept ending up at dead ends/private property so would not recommend those two. Otherwise very dog friendly and pleasant."

"Some nice simple walks. The small falls were a real bonus. Really clean bathrooms with a cold water bottle filling station"

"Nice trails on covered mossy path. River flows alongside. Cut short because bridge over Creek was out. Founders have tomb there."

"I have had the pleasure of meeting up with a number of people who walk their dogs there and have enjoyed their conversations and at times walks on the many trails at the Reserve. They have been attentive to their dogs and the environment, friendly and outgoing. A few could pick up after their dog, but these are few and not the norm. My dog Otto, schnauzer, has made lots of friends on our walks. I will post some pictures of his friends at the Reserve."
