One of our long-term residents, Po, has been with us for 730 days, experiencing every season and receiving love and attention from our dedicated volunteers and staff. Another sweet soul, Paws Savannah, has been at our shelter since June 2017 and is eagerly awaiting a loving family to adopt her in 2020.
Francesca, a playful 6-year-old Pitbull mix, found her forever home in December 2021 after being at our shelter since June 2018. We are committed to finding loving homes for all our animals, and appointments are required to surrender an animal. "0 stars if i could. read other reviews and related to them a lot. staff is super rude. my cousin let a cat lick her fingers and was yelled at by a staff member. My cousin didn’t read the signs so she apologized and took her fingers out immediately . then the staff member proceeded to repeat herself and yell at her again like we were stupid or something? we immediately got out the store and were stunned by how this lady spoke to her. Her coworkers just stared at us and spoke amongst each other. glad i didn't spend a penny here….."
"I love Paws at the Mall, the place where you can meet the SPCA of Anne Arundel County’s small animals. You will find adoptable cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, mice, hamsters, and occasionally birds or chinchillas. There is also a retail section where you will find some pet supplies and clothing for pet lovers! The SPCA staff at Paws are friendly, knowledgable , compassionate, hardworking advocates for the animals in their care. You may see volunteers when you visit as well. I volunteer at Paws weekly and have also adopted Guinea pigs from Paws. Please know that they ask you to refrain from touching the animals for the animals’ safety and yours as well. If you touch a few cats, you may spread a virus from one cat to another. If you put your finger in a rat cage, they will think you are giving them a treat and bite your finger. The signs are all over the store for a reason."
"Adopted my rescue mouse Yuki (originally Munchie) from here to be a companion for my girl Juniper (black mouse). The staff seem to care about the animals here. Thank you for making time for me when i drove all the way from DC. I would note I can tell the store needs help organizationally as the set up is not optimal for the small animals. Would suggest getting ALL small animals into bin cages or tanks and out of critter trail cages ASAP."
"I loved it here! Completed an adoption app through spca and came here for the meet and greet for my lil rat to find a friend. Nice place, animals well cared for, very cool! Always adopt, there are plenty of wonderful animals that need a nice home!"
"Adopt while you shop. Stop in this great spot at the Annapolis Mall to meet some furry friends available for adoption from the SPCA of Anne Arundle County. Plenty of cats, dogs, birds, hamsters to see. Even if you aren’t adopting - stop in to show some love or purchase some clothing or supplies to help the SPCA"
