Mai Thai Restaurant

"This was a very nice place to visit. I've lived in Old Town Alexandria for 8 years, and this was my first time visiting. Our waiter was extremely attentive and very kind. The view from the second level was beautiful. We watched people enjoying the beautiful day by the Potomac River and sailboats going by while we ate. The lunchtime entrées were very reasonably priced with a healthy portion. I ordered the cashew chicken, which I do not think is actually Thai but rather some fusion dish. It was good but a bit too sweet for me. My wife ordered the Red Curry. It did not have a very strong coconut flavor, which I expect from a Thai curry and not spicy at all (though we could have asked for that). However, it was still good. I will be back because I want to try their Panang Curry. Hope you visit!"

"Visited this place on Christmas Eve. Tried the mixed Dumplings, a daiquiri and some Panang curry. The dumplings were quite well done. Had a good mix of meat and veg. Liked the shredded beetroot salad side as well. The daiquiri was a bit on the sweeter side, not totally sure how these are but a bit too sweet for me. The Panang curry was okay lacked flavor and the chicken was not well cooked for my liking. Would prefer it to be more well done. The ambience and the view from upstairs is beautiful and you get a good view of the waterfront and the city. The Christmas decor added a nice vibe to the place. Would recommend for the view and service. Food is okay might be better options for authentic Thai!"

"Came here on a Sunday evening where it wasn't so packed. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly! I ordered the spring rolls and ginger peanut tofu which was delicious! I'd definitely come back!"

"We were in Old Town Alexandria and our regular places were too busy for us. We found this place with outdoor seating and still open! We started with some sake, a margarita and some awesome dumplings! Then the avacoda salad! Then we had the special shrimp and scallops! Really everything was perfect ! We even got some more food to go! We will be back for sure! The menu has a lot of options!"

"Wonderful location. I was there on a Saturday night and they were packed. They still were able to seat me quickly. I only ordered a soup and salad. The soup was very good. I was very disappointed in the salad. It had sliced beef on it which was almost inedible. I should have returned it. The service was excellent. I would definitely try it again because the food around me looked great."
