I have always had difficult to cut wavy thick hair, and so most of my life had just had a buzz cut since that's the easiest to manage. Alphie is a pro though and has been able to learn my wave pattern and make me look good!"

"I cannot say enough amazing things about having Alphi as my stylist! I started getting my hair colored with him in 2021 when the previous salon I had been going to for years started getting lazy and my blonde was consistently turning orange. He color corrected my hair and I have not looked back since! He is the absolute, without a doubt, best with handling blonde hair in the DC area. I searched for a long time to find the right fit and cannot recommend enough. Plus he is a gem of a human!"

"I made an appointment for a blow-out today. The total price was $70 and when I went to pay, there was no option for me to leave a tip. To be honest, I have never paid so much for a blow-out. Typically, I pay $50. I assumed ( perhaps wrongly) that the tip was included as there was no option to leave a tip. A few minutes after I walked out of the salon, I received a phone call telling me to “never return again”. I may be at fault for misunderstanding that a tip was not included but the exceptionally poor customer service after the fact shocked me. Tips have been & remain optional. I wish that they had the decency to call and ask if I was perhaps unhappy with the service provided at which point I would’ve explained that it was simply a misunderstanding and happily left a tip. I travel to DC all the time now so it is a shame that they will lose a customer. Calling someone to say: you can never return here because a tip was not provided is EXTREMELY poor customer service. You need to take a course on professionalism J. Lavish Salon: professionalism 101!! Also, tips are NOT mandatory. You ruined my morning & I have never ever experienced such poor service. I certainly will never return again!!"

"I was so fortunate to first find Alphi a few months ago. I have had a long hair health journey and I am so lucky to have found him. He is extremely honest about what will be good or bad for your hair and what will be best long term. He is also very open about pricing and you will not be surprised at the bill. I could not recommend him more."

"I've gone to J Lavish a few times to fix bad bleach jobs and to touch up my roots- I recently went from a dark brown to blonde, and they have been an absolute lifesaver! Keeping my hair healthy, bright, and a great shade of blonde. Everyone at the salon is very helpful and dedicated to great service. Could not recommend this place enough for blondes.
