"After reserving a boat with Lake Life, we read the recent online reviews that left us with serious concerns. But we had a great experience. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful, as well as transparent about the negative reviews. The boat was almost brand new and in great working order. Most importantly, we had planned to take our own photos of the boat before and after taking it out to protect ourselves given the recent reviews, but were actually encouraged by the staff to do so if we wanted. We had the boat for several hours and enjoyed our time. Would happily rent here again."

"I'll preface by saying that the 3 stars I gave are for the staff and the quality of the boats we received alone. They both get a 3/3. The management and policy-setters of this company are why I am not giving 5 stars. The staff was incredibly helpful the morning of the rental and in the afternoon. The people at the desk were concise and well articulated about the rules, rental policies, and the reservation. The line gets long but they worked well under pressure. The guys at the dock are efficient, helpful, and skilled; all things necessary for the tourists inexperienced in docking or boat maneuvering. I don't blame the staff either at the dock or the desk for any of the sour feelings I had from the rental. They are all excellent. I grew up in Deep Creek on boats and know the boat rental culture of the area, more specifically the "no cancellations" policy at Lake Life. Renting a boat and having a good day here is a gamble sometimes, I can't fault the company for this. Not allowing cancellations or modifications within 2 weeks has always been a problematic policy in my mind, especially with how chilly windy lake days in the summer can be. Essentially, my friends and I could only pray for good weather, have a rough rainy day on the water, or lose the rental funds entirely. This was something I wish I didn't have to worry about. My first issue was some manager who showed up just as we were about to leave the dock. She essentially read us the riot act about being totally liable for all damage, not "rafting up", and how much things would cost if we messed anything up. At the end of her spiel she said somewhat ironically "have a good day". I get this is necessary information, it just freaked my friends out a bit after already being aware of all of these policies. To sum it up, it felt a bit rude/overkill. The "no anchors" policy is understandable, I'm sure the company has lost dozens of anchors from people who don't know how to free one properly. However saying "you don't need one, there's no current in the lake" is a rough excuse. The waves and wind alone would have pushed anyone into the shoreline but for constant movement or an improvised anchor. The gas re-fill policy was my groups final gripe. I understand the line at the gas dock at 4:00pm is a supply and demand situation, but when we arrived there were 5 boats ahead of us and when we left the gas dock there were easily 15 boats lined up behind us. Anyone uninformed would handle this situation poorly, I can see how boats collide all the time near the gas dock, it's a mess. If the company wanted to better preserve their boats and improve customer experience they would find a solution for this. Not to be incredibly harsh, all things considered we had a great day. I just think we got lucky. I see other reviews on here of potential propellor damage fraud and I had the same moment of an employee showing me a picture of the prop, which I thought was weird/indicative of something weird. Given the quality of the boats here and the desk/dock staff I'd hazard renting again, but I wish things were better here managerially."

"RENTERS BEWARE!!! Do NOT rent from this establishment. These people are grade A scam artists. We rented a boat for 4 hours for $649 (incl. taxes) and promise you had zero problems cruising around the lake. When we returned, the employees accused us of damage to the propeller. They claimed that it was not damaged before (via photos they took and I did not see them take pictures prior of our specific boat-could have been pics from any boat) and when we returned it, they said the propeller was bent. They charged us $300 to replace the propeller. P.S. Gas was $77.90 so it was almost $1,000 total for a FOUR hour rental. I don’t recommend. Check other people’s reviews - it is a recurring theme. It is how they make extra $$$. Greedy, dishonest, and hurting good, hard working Americans."

"We had a great experience with Lake Life Rentals! We rented a pontoon for 8 adults and they included a single tube and tow rope. Booking process was simple, the explanation of rules/driving was throughout but to the point. We liked that we could watch the training/certification video online ahead of time. Very convenient! The price was fair and the boat was in great condition. We will be back!"

"Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. Well worth the price. The online reservation process was quick and easy, the front desk staff were welcoming and polite and the young men on the docks were very patient and professional. We rented a pontoon twice during our visit and would’ve rented one every day if we could. I highly recommend this facility. Five stars is not nearly enough."
