"A very nice and interesting place of the Antietam Battlefield tour. This is NOT General George McClellan's headquarters as believed to be, despite the big sign out on the road. The sign in front of the home does ask for a $5 donation, which is very fair. You enter around the side of the building. Lectures are given in the white barn that is pictured. It was not crowded at all."
"Possibly McClellans and most likely Hookers headquarters, the Pry House is an important stop on your way to the Antietam Battlelield. It now houses the field hospital museum and provides a complete top down view of nearly the entire battlefield. Plenty of parking and an oft overlooked site. Go see it."
"Wonderful museum for Civil War enthusiasts and family outings. Be sure to visit on a day when Civil War reenactors are present. Staff is highly knowledgeable. Bookshop has the latest books about Civil War medicine. The garden contains 1860 herbles.. It's maintained by a pharmacist. Schedule a visit when he is doing a presentation! well worth it. There's not a lot of shade. Bring bottled water and snacks. Bring sunscreen and window shade for your car. Lots of good restaurants And farmers markets in the area."
"It took us a while to get inside the building (talked about that on our blog post), but once we got in wow! Amazing place and if you didn't know about it, you might miss it. If you visit the Antietam Battlefield, make a point to go looking for this place."
"This was a great place to start our hike and research of the Battle at Antietam where general officers like MGen McClellan had to make the tough decisions on where to conduct his attacks. The Pry House has it's story and I recommend people make it a point to stop here."
