"A friendly and welcoming environment for hackers, makers, geeks, electronics enthusiasts, kibbitzers, and a whole bunch more types of folks to share ideas and projects, and teach / learn / collaborate. Maker spaces cover a spectrum of interests and types of project; this one is primarily aimed at 3D printing, electronics, robotics, computers, hacking, and HAM Radio, with smaller areas in IP networking, soldering, lock picking, laser cutting/engraving, wood shop equipment, and a whole lot more besides. I've been bringing my electronics projects here for years to work on, to share with others, and to ask for help when there's something someone else is better at than I am - and everyone is happy to share their skills, enthusiasm, and encouragement with first-time visitors and regulars alike."
"I've been there quite a few times. Everyone has always been friendly and happy to help and/or teach - lots of people knowledgeable in so many areas who are happy to tach you! They have lots of different events too. They have lots of cool "toys" too! On top of all of this, they are a non-profit and you can join in/use their equipment at no charge. Can be a fun place for some 1:1 time with kids or even a date if you both are into making and/or hacking."
