"This place! Please read, hope I’m bumped to the top forever. Really, zero stars. The worst thing was that one of the horses had a very ill-fitting shoe. The barn was FILTHY. Absolutely atrocious. For a beautiful property, we were surprised…Stalls are SO small… The kid, in his Summer job, was nice enough, but not communicative at all. We had to ask the horses’ names. We had to ask about a helmet. (We had 2 of them…more on that later). He brings out Gunnar (no info about his personality, no instruction besides telling us to “go down to the gate, open it and lead him to the ring”. This horse, most likely worn out and depressed about his living conditions, WOULD. NOT. GO. We ended up leading him back to the filthy barn, and ended up getting “Superfly”. She was more affable, and my 3 1/2 year old enjoyed it. However, check out the stirrups! No attempt was made to fit her properly, so we were anxious. And we were COMPLETELY UNSUPERVISED! NO instruction on how to lead a horse! What if there was an accident? I would have not done this alone…but my husband was there. And no treats for my daughter to give her. This farm needs to reflect & regroup. We had a ride near Harpers Ferry last month and the horses were obviously taken care of, and loved. Immaculate. The way it should be. Good Grief!"

"I had SO much fun on my trail ride! I called ahead and scheduled to make sure they had space and the person on the phone was kind and helpful. My horse’s name was Gracie and she was such a good girl and perfect for a first time rider like me. The trail ride leader didn’t talk much besides helping with horse stuff, but honestly I liked that because I could just take in the beautiful scenery and relax. The horses seem very well taken care of and loved."

"What a great experience. We had a group of 8 horses and riders. Our family has already decided we're going back to Western Trails. It was so much fun and Lane was awesome with the kids ages 4-10. My 4yo daughter asked me if she could go back and ride a horsey today. I HIGHLY recommend them."

"If you are looking for a guided side by side tour this is the place to go! I've been going to Deep Creek for over 20 years and this was the most fun I have ever had. The tour is very exciting and you definitely have a blast. They take you all through the woods and up through the mountains. The views are beautiful. Our guide was a young child and he was awesome! I don't think a grown up would have given us such a great tour. I was also surprised at how responsible he was, concerned about safety. The owners of this ranch truly care about their animals. So if you are going there for horse back riding, definitely a must! Everyone we met there was very nice and we will definitely visit next time we go to deep Creek"
