Lakeside Camping is a picturesque campground and lodging facility located in the scenic Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, just 17 miles south of the Canadian border. With 200 campsites offering a variety of options, including wooded and open sites, tent and pull through sites, full hookups, and 30/50 amp service, Lakeside Camping is the perfect destination for your next outdoor adventure. Situated amidst majestic Red and White Pines, the campground boasts stunning lakeshore views and two private beaches with over 1,500 feet of sandy beachfront.
Guests can enjoy the cold waters of Island Pond, a 2-mile lake surrounded by a wooded island of conifers, perfect for trout fishing. The campground is also home to nesting loons whose calls provide a peaceful soundtrack to your stay. In addition to the natural beauty of the surroundings, Lakeside Camping offers amenities such as playgrounds, picnic tables, a general store, video arcade, metered LP gas, hot showers, boat rentals, and sunset lake cruises.
Pets are welcome at Lakeside Camping, with designated dog walk areas provided. Wildlife sightings are common in the area, with moose being a popular sight for visitors to capture on camera. "This is a treasure! We have rented a camper here for long weekends. The facilities are impeccable, never crowded and the weekend events are hilarious and thoughtful."
"The location is great, the sites are tiny. I told them I would be working remotely and needed internet, they said they had wifi throughout the campground, which downloaded at best at T1 speeds (in the 1990s that was good). They also put me in a "pull-through" spot, except my camper couldn't make the turn out of the spot, so I had to back out of the spot, while there was plenty of space up top. Also, the rules are crazy. For instance, no riding bikes on the property? What did they expect my kid to do?"
"beautiful camping site. nice clean campgrounds nice people my only two complaints are #1 that the so called WIFI DOES NOT WORK so if you're planning on doing anything on the internet keep on driving to another campground #2 is if your cellphone carrier is VERIZON you won't have RECEPTION a lot of places in Vermont especially at lakeside camp ground 0 CELL PHONE SERVICE and 0 internet. ATT and T-Mobile seem to work better."
"Hidden gem. My friend found this on a last minute excursion through Vermont. We always wanted to fish a few of the lakes up there and were in a situation that allowed us to make a detour that way. We called them on our way there and they accommodated us with a rental trailer onsite. Camper was super clean. Very very quiet even with a good amount of sites taken. Everyone was friendly and they accommodated my large truck and a boat to parking. Hope to be back soon. Rates were fair as well in my opinion."
"We used to love this place. Last year we had a spot 2 doors down from a seasonal camper who has an elaborate site with their own staircase down to the water. When they were boating things were quiet. When they came back at sunset all hell broke out. The music was unbearable and at times it was blasting at 1am. At 8am sharp AC/DC blared from their site. I contacted the owner after we left and they never responded to my email. This campground is now a drunken party spot with no oversight and respect for those who enjoy the outdoors, some peace and quiet and the sound of loons."
