"Great historic inn with owners who care about the whole experience of their guests. This was my 3rd visit. Incredibly quiet, and at night you can hear loons and other waterfowl on Caspian Lake, and coyotes calling across the valley. Nice trail brings you to a great swimming spot on the lake. The food is excellent, and bar atmosphere is cozy."

"We were very impressed with the Highland Lodge. We were able to stay in a cottage that had our surname on it, which was super special. Everything about the Lodge is quaint. The area is beautiful, and so restful. If you want something out of the normal, the Highland Lodge is where to go. Hosts are very accommodating."

"Our 3 nights at Highland Lodge came at the end of a 12 day trip, and I wish we could have stayed the entire 12 nights - it was the highlight of our vacation! The entire staff was welcoming and made us immediately feel like we were part of the community. This place is special! From the warm, delicious breakfasts, to the comfortable, but modern rooms, to the coziest beds, to the delicious cocktails and food - and the amazing setting and grounds and beach access. Just a 5 star place all around tucked into the hill above Caspian Lake. Absolutely cannot wait to return - what an incredible place."

"Unfortunately, I don't have any photos of the fabulous dinner and cocktails my husband and I had. Elsa was fabulous! She knocked us out with the vodka-spiked blueberry lemonade for starters, then we had the spinach & artichoke sticks as an appy - creamy and gooey and amazing! Dinner for me was the beet green salad (pickled goodies and a very tasty blueberry dressing) and scallion/spring pea ravioli, lemony and buttery. Yum! My husband had the arugula salad and the special - rack of lamb with quinoa. Portions were perfect, and our meals couldn't have been more perfect. We plan to go to Margarita Monday at least once this summer. The staff was amazing (thank you Elsa for the friendly conversation and your bubbly personality). All were friendly and very accommodating. Best meal out in a long time - it was perfect!"
