"My wife and I picked Portland, ME for our 28th Anniversary get away. We had never been to Maine, and had no idea what to do. Because we came in December, many of the regular tour places were closed. But then we came across Maine Day Trips. My wife emailed the owner, Norm on Friday night. He responded back right away. We booked a tour with him For Sunday. He arrived 15 min early. "Maine Day Trip Tours is one of the best Private tours in Portland. The friendliness and attention to details that Norm shows is the first thing you notice that separates him from other tours and he stays this way from beginning to end. We had the pleasure of taking the 6 hour tour which included Portland and Kennebunk point . We would like to point out , if you’re on a cruise ship they also offer this type of tour ,But and one big but!! it's on a tour bus with a hundred other people not a private tour. As a tip from us don't fall for cruise ship scare tactics that if you book with an independent you might be late back to the ship. They will get you back on time if they didn't it would only take one time and they would never book another guest. Anyway back to our tour we loaded in Norm's van for a tour getting a very interesting and educational lesson on Portland and all points in between as we drove from city to country side. Here’s a Only with “Maine Day Trip” a stop along the way at a local market store. This was a great stop. We loved being able to walk around and shop in a real local store, not a tourist market, but where the locals shop. Maine is a beautiful State and, as you travel with Norm, he can and will show you it all such as history, homes, and of course Light Houses such as ‘Bug”, “Portland Head” and another only with Norm!!”Nubble Light” . Where we had a great lunch, Lobster Roll and the Best Blueberry Pie we have ever ate made with wild Maine blueberries .Then we loaded back in van for the ride to Perkins Cove and Kennebunk point, then on to Portland being dropped right in front of where we needed to enter for your cruise ship.In ending, if your travels take you to Portland Maine by cruise ship or other"
