"Used to love the Homestead for brunch years ago, but this place had gone downhill. My last experience there I arrived 10 minutes after the restaurant opened and it was mostly empty. Waited an hour to be served cold food, overcooked egg, scant portion, and a broken sauce. The person I was dining with was served the wrong meal and it took an additional half an hour for her to receive food. The visit before this the server was unhelpful and the salmon was undercooked and served with an oily, broken cream sauce. More training and consistency might make this a spot worth giving another try, but I won’t be recommending to others as I have in past years."

"It’s horrible that “adults” are leaving negative reviews simply because they are upset that an establishment only offers slots in open mic for seasoned performers in order to allow the guests to enjoy their dining experience. Not all open mics are catered to those learning. Do not be fooled by this childish attempt. This place is great, as said by the people who are now “refusing” to go to a place they “used to love” only because of this rule. I hope their new clientele is better than ever!"

"I love this restaurant. One of my favorite places to go. The staff, food and vibe is lovely. I have had really good salmon, burgers, macaroni and cheese, many brunch meals as well as dinner specials. I am not much of drinker - so I cannot comment on that - but it is definitely a place to go and have a nice meal with family, friends and on special occasions."

"TJ at the bar is outstanding. His customer service was great. Really busy weekend for this town and yet he was smiling and willing to do his best. The host Nathan is also outstanding in what he does. Food was great and so was the atmosphere. Thanks guys for treating us to an outstanding lunch service."

"In a word, Homestead is disappointing. They try and there is great potential, but they don't live up to the promise and pretense. It is the basic small details that are missing, such as a warm Manhattan with no cherry, a table not being set despite a reservation, having to ask for silverware. For the price, the ingredients are skimpy. The haddock dish served with scallops and shrimp comes with half a scallop (cut in two) and two small shrimp. The salmon with risotto was served with white rice ("we are out of risotto, would you like extra green beans?") Don't even try the artichoke dip as a starter...soupy mayo-based sauce with a few pieces of artichoke and strands of spinach thrown in. Parsimonious is another word that comes to mind to describe Homestead."
