"My wife and I registered for French Bistro night. We truly enjoyed the evening, the chef was great, and the recipes were fabulous. At the end of the evening, we were told that the recipes would be emailed to us.......they weren't!!! I called three times requesting the recipes, and got no response."

"Never ordering from Sur La Table again. Placed an order online, and tried to return some items to the store. Took much longer and failed to let me return some items that were purchased full price. Sur La Table uses a different order confirmation number for online vs store returns, and I had to search for the specific email that had the number (cannot find the number by logging into your account). An item that was from the same order was "unable" to be returned to the store according to the people working there because they could not find the item on their system. It was clearly ordered from the Sur La Table online store, and on the same receipt. Was told that it was purchased from a different store and cannot be returned there. Learned my lesson."

"I had such a lovely date night with my Fiancé and our new friends we met at the Pasta class. The class consisted of 6 people which I think is a good size. Kia was our Chef and she was so sweet and very friendly. She was very patient and a fun instructor. The class was in a professional kitchen set up. The ingredients were pre measured which helps save time. We got to use some new and cool kitchen tools I haven't used before. The garlic roller and the zester/ juicer. I enjoyed rolling the dough and learning how to use the kitchen aid and the attachment. I liked learning how to make the different shape farfalle and the parpadelle. The pesto was really good and the red sauce came out so good. We also made a lemoncello gelato which was delicious and I wish we had more to go! I can't wait to take another one."

"Beware the cooking classes. You will all pay the same fee, but they pair you up and you will all prepare a single meal you then have to split with your table. So if there are 3 strangers at your table, you may get to chop one thing or stir for a minute. The labor is all shared, and then the meal is shared. So for $75 or so you get 1/4 of a single dish and you didn't actually cook it all by yourself."

"amazing experience, with chef amalia! former lawyer who redevoted herself to being a chef. went there with my wife and 2 teen kids for “mastering french essentials’” class, and cooked: chicken, potatoes, green beans, and crepes. chef amalia was very patient answering all our newbie questions, giving us a history of the foods we were cooking, teaching us preparation techniques & tools. the portions are sampler sized, else I think the preparation time would have been far longer. the experience is not the same as a “chef’s table”, where the chef cooks a multi course meal in front of you while seated at a single table (we’ve been to several). …but we were looking for an actual cooking class, not a sit down meal, so this was perfect. I even preferred eating while standing like a real wannabe chef! absolutely plan to attend again!"
