Izumi Sushi and Hibachi Steak house

"I was extremely disappointed in both food & customer service at Izumi Hibachi Steak House in Holbrook. I was there with a few others the other night for dinner. Two of us who ordered tuna & lobster meals had to send the dinners back as the fish was bad. They do not have filtered or sell bottled water. We received the bill and each of us put in our share of food /drinks and included extra tip on top of the 18% they add on and then we counted and recounted to make sure it was enough. The woman took the check and $ and returned a few minutes later saying it was $10.00 short which we know was not possible. We know she was wrong but we gave her the extra $10. anyway. I think on a $400.00 bill she should not have insisted we were wrong. The last thing is I arrived home 20 minutes later and realized I left my scarf. I called to ask them if they found it at my seat and they said they were too busy to look and if I wanted to come back to look I could. I said I am 20 minutes away and I would appreciate if someone could please just take a quick look for me and they refused. I had left 20 minutes earlier and it was not busy at all but regardless they were rude and offer poor customer service. I will not be going back."

"I have been coming here for a while now, service has never been great however our kids enjoyed the interaction with the chefs.. Today will be my last day, service was absolutely horrible from the waitresses. They are disrespectful and nasty. It’s so simple to say hello first!! Instead they just rush you to order . I can go on and on. They simply do not care. They disappear only to come back and hand you your check without asking you how everything was or if you may want dessert.. They all need some proper training and simple manners . We thought mentioning something at the front desk manager would be helpful but he’s just as dismissive as them !! All they want at this place is your money!!!"

"I dine here all the time and also order takeout many times, but I will not be coming back again. I called around 9:15pm to ask if they were still doing takeout orders and they said yes so I placed an order. The chef cooked my appetizer with the plastic wrap still around it. I went home and realized what happened and took photos and called them for a refund on the 1 item, and they told me I had to come back to get a refund because they had to see it in person and they couldn’t do it over the phone. No problem, I came back right away and showed them the appetizer that was cooked /deep-fried while wrapped in plastic. The woman inspects it and says to me, “oh usually they take the plastic off before cooking it, but the chef was in a rush to go home”. I can’t imagine the toxins released by the plastic that was also exposing other peoples orders using the same deep fryer. This is truly not an acceptable response or reason for the mistake, and makes me question the hygiene and cleanliness of every food item they cook at this place. If the chef is in a rush to go home, will he also pick up dropped food from the ground and serve it because he can’t take his time to be careful or redo a mistake? The restaurant was still busy and takeout orders were still coming in when I arrived to pick up my order, so this chef had 0 excuse to cut corners. I would rather they tell me they can’t accept any more orders, instead of being greedy and cut corners with hygiene and safety at the expense of the customer. I advise other diners to take this review into consideration before eating here, I surely will never come back here again."

"We got seated, the worst is coming to a restaurant and then seeing the seat you will be sitting in. NOT for nothing this place is making plenty of business at least of the seat well upholstered for the customers comfort. The food and the service was great. My other peave was the choices of alcoholic drinks add more and chardonnay should always be quality chardonnay NOT table wine"
