"Had the loveliest girls weekend winter getaway! No detail is spared at the Sound View. I was greeted at reception with some home made mulled wine, We had dinner at the Halyard which was exceptional, yoga every morning followed by a delicious croissant watching the tides roll in, who could ask for more?!"

"This was my second stay at the Soundview, and first time during the winter months. Don't let the cold weather scare you away, the Soundview and Greenport are open for business in the winter! This was a girls/mamas weekend away from our kids and the Soundview was perfect for us. As a party of 5 (we ended up being only 4 but we originally booked for 5) there are not many places on the east end that can accommodate that many people comfortably. We booked the 2 bedroom suite and it exceeded all our expectations! Very spacious, clean, and the view cannot be beat. Two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, full kitchen, dining, living, and outdoor space with patio furniture over looking the Sound. We took a yoga class one morning which was the perfect way to start the day. The yoga instructor incorporated an "ocean/wave" theme flow which was so appropriate for the waterfront setting. The free continental breakfast is just enough to fill your belly before hitting the wineries. Fruit, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, pastries, and the croissants were the highlight! Dinner at the Halyard was by far the best meal we had all weekend. Other honorable mentions include Bruce and Sons (brunch), Lucharitos (lunch/dinner), and all wine and snacks offered at Rose Hill Vineyards. While shopping in Greenport one afternoon we stopped in the North Fork Art Collective. The owner, Kara, gave us a full tour and even shared the history of Fielder's Gallery. It's a two level gallery with something for everyone and every price point (even stickers for the kiddos!) I highly recommend the Soundview and Greenport village any time of year. You get what you pay for and the Soundview is worth every penny!!!"

"The Sound View Hotel is an excellent getaway from the city, & offers the best water & sunset views on the north shore/fork. I’ve stayed many times over the years. I’ve enjoyed watching them improve through renovations, amenities, and the landscaping that distanced themselves further away from the motel model, and into the more lux/charming seaside abode it seems they are going for. Very well done. The main house/lobby is equally well done & the restaurant/piano bar is a great option to spend an evening. Every interaction with staff (lobby, valet, bartenders, kitchen crew) has been pleasant. If you stay in the off season prices are extremely affordable, and chances are you’ll be upgraded to their suite(s) building (a wise move to keep the few winter guests grouped together.) if I HAD to offer a critique it would be: for staff to ensure the glass sliding doors are washed prior to guest arrival, the sea salt air leaves a residue that takes away from the view from inside the room. And a year-round privacy screen on the balconies would be nice. Wishing SV continued success!"

"From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Anthony H., it only kept getting better and better. First of all, the view from the room is breathtaking. We slept with the windows cracked open so we could hear the ocean (yes, it's literally close enough to throw a rock into the ocean). The service was outstanding. The room immaculate, and the food at the Halyard (their restaurant) and the continental breakfast, were awesome. We are already making plans to return this summer with the rest of our family (the kids). A+"

"The location and the view (ocean views from each bungalow thing) are fantastic, but I like to be able to actually sleep when I stay in a hotel vs being kept up by every little sound next door from my neighbors so for that reason I would NEVER book this place again. Walls are literally paper thin, to the point where I could hear my next door neighbor coughing, chatting on the phone, eating dinner, etc. Absolutely a nightmare. And made worse by the fact that the rooms are tiny little studios with just the bed (and that the room I was in had one of those locked shared doors which only lets in more sound). Stay away unless you're just using the venue. The restaurant and public facilities are nice otherwise."
