Welcome to the Launceston Judo Club - University of Tasmania Judo! Located at the University of Tasmania Launceston campus, we are a martial arts club offering judo classes for both children and adults in the beautiful city of Launceston, Australia.
Judo is a globally recognized martial art and sport that utilizes throws, holds, chokes, and armlocks to overcome opponents. At Launceston Judo Club, we pride ourselves on providing a safe and enjoyable environment for all our members. Our experienced instructors teach a variety of techniques while instilling values of respect and care among our judokas (players). We believe in fostering a sense of camaraderie and teamwork within our club.
Our classes are held at the Unigym Launceston Dojo, conveniently located at the University of Tasmania's Newnham campus on Brooks Road. We offer a Junior Girls/Boys Class from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm during school terms, providing a great opportunity for children to learn judo in a structured and supportive setting.
To join our club, membership with Judo Tasmania is required. This entails a yearly fee of $75 for juniors and $100 for seniors. Additionally, our class training fees are $10 per lesson, payable upfront per term. Terms typically run for 10-11 weeks, ensuring ample time for skill development and progression.
Whether you're a parent looking to enroll your child in a martial arts program, an adult seeking a new fitness challenge, or someone simply interested in learning judo, we welcome you to join us. Our classes cater to individuals of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners.
