"Never give these vouchers as a gift. I could not find a hotel my kids liked. I decided to use the vouchers for meals instead. They made it very difficult. No hotels in Dublin available anymore."

"I stayed in the Knightsbrook hotel after the kind gift from family of a voucher for a hotel stay plus a 200 euro voucher a few weeks ago. The hotel itself was lovely as were the staff generally. However, guests in the hotel were up all night having parties in each other's rooms (there was a wedding on which I was not informed about when I booked) and were making noise until 5am - at which point my nerves were shot as this was supposed to be a relaxing weekend away. I informed reception about this both at 5am and upon checking out. At the time, staff were very sympathetic and informed me someone would respond with either a refund, or a preferential rate. I since called back twice as I had heard nothing for a couple of weeks and was assured the email was forthcoming. Again I have heard nothing and was made to feel like an imposition the last time I checked on this promised preferential rate/ discount to rebook. I can appreciate that guests staying in the hotel are not necessarily the hotel's problem and I understand that the guests were simply enjoying themselves during a wedding. However, a significant amount of money was spent with the goal of having a relaxing night away and nothing has been done to resolve this issue. I was left to call back several times further wasting my time after a very disappointing stay. Perhaps the most frustrating part of this episode was the assurance from staff to be in touch in order to resolve this issue and then never reaching out. Lastly, another irksome thing involved the voucher which stated it was for a hotel stay in any select hotel plus a 200 euro voucher to spend in the hotel. I was informed however upon booking that the voucher was no longer 200 euro but130 euro for reasons that escaped me and so I also had to pay out extra for this less than satisfactory experience. I didn't bother to argue this point at the time as I was so tired from the lack of sleep but it did seem to me to be misleading to customers."

"Had a wonderful 2 night stay in the Ardilaun Hotel in Galway, booking was so easy and we were very happy with the price. Hotel was fantastic and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Looking forward to our next break away with Select."

"I must compliment Joanne on her knowledge, patience & most important her very efficient & pleasant manner in my dealings with her. We were a party of 10– 5 couples & she booked the Midleton Park hotel for us & i must say it was very enjoyable coupled with good value . We will certainly use Select Hotels in future. "Stayed in the Nuremore Hotel in Monaghan. Rooms were a big let down. No way this is a 4 star hotel. Damp smell, thread bare carpets torn curtains. Not worth the €360 for the 2 nights we stayed. Food prices in the bar way too expensive €38 for a steak sandwich!! Only plus was the staff."
