"Extremely comfortable, and hot buffet food catered for a large group was very good, hot and tasty. Manager and staff very courteous and helpful. We came to the hotel for a wake after a funeral. Outside the weather was snowing, but inside it was lovely and warm. Very clean and well furnished. Would recommend."

Food is five star hot varied buffet with pizza delicious thick cut chips quiches pork pies sausage rolls good sandwiches choice. "Absolutely superb food and service on Friday night. The restaurant was very busy but our table was in a nice quieter corner. All three courses were really good, brought out reasonably quickly and with staff regularly checking everything was fine. Would definitely go again and recommend."

"Comfy traditional pub (& hotel) in the centre of Belper, a small town with an "alarmingly" high number of good pubs. This is one of them. Comfy decor, family atmosphere, solid pub food, plus a (limited) selection of cask ales. Moderate prices, friendly staff, convenient location, about a 3 minute walk eg to Belper Bus Garage. Recommended."
