"Poor experience last Sunday. Waited over an hour for our starters of Garlic Bread and Doughballs. Very simple dishes but clearly not for the 3 chefs. Seen 3 people arrive and all receive food before us. Could perhaps excuse the above wait if the restaurant was busy but it had 5 tables. Everyone else also seemed very annoyed with the wait. Food was tasty but we won’t be going back with service like that."

"Always enjoy a visit to pizza express, the Plymouth restaurant didn't disappoint! Delicious Etna pizza, on a romana base, while off menu, it's considered a heritage pizza, so they will make it! 100% worth a try if you like slightly hotter /spicy pizzas"

"Very slow service, had to leave before food arrived...... We arrived as a family of 5 on time having booked a table for 1215. The restaurant was reasonably busy, but certainly not packed. We were quickly shown to our table, but it took some time to take our order and then to receive our drinks. The server asked if we needed to complete our meal by a certain time and we said 1320 as we had theatre tickets for 1330. Our 2 starters arrived at 1255, when we also queried/requested our main courses. We gave up 1310 when there was still no sign of our food and were told it still wasn't ready. The server was very apologetic, the manager far less so as she removed the cost of the mains from our order. Overall a real disappointment, leaving hungry after just under an hour. There was certainly nothing 'Express' about the service we received. We've dined regularly at Pizza Express, but would be very reluctant to ever return to this branch."

"All great especially the service. My dessert was a huge disappointment though. I chose the new sticky toffee bundt cake which should be slightly denser & a bit more moist texture than a sponge cake. My dessert cake was flat, looked uncooked & like a paste. Not a bundt or any type of cake. Very disappointed. The item was removed from the bill, which was a nice gesture. Otherwise a good meal, great service."

"Had a fantastic meal here last week! As always staff were super attentive and the food was hot and tasted delicious! The manager came and had a little chat with us during service which was a nice touch considering how busy they were, on a weekend night! (I believe her name was Lucy?) But we never felt rushed and staff were checking on us regularly throughout our meal! Great example of thoughtful customer service."
