Lyric Hammersmith Theatre

"Fun friendly staff, clean, well organised theatre. Also, a great rooftop garden, which is a hidden gem! A bar serving a huge range of drinks (no coffee availability on my visit) and hot food served too. Fully accessible toilets and a lift / elevator. Theatre seats are comfortable for about 45 mins. Overall, it's a 'cool' theatre with good light and sound."

"My favourite off west end theatre. It is always wonderful to see a show here. The theatre is very well maintained and clean. The pantomime is always very diverse and fantastic fun for all the family. If you book in advance you can get a great price too. Also to note the many classes they run in the week and weekend for youngsters are worth checking out."

"It is amazing to have such a wonderful theatre - one that puts on terrific plays with fabulous casts - away from West End. Ticket prices are very reasonable, and the venue also works hard to support the local area. As it is quite a small theatre, always a good view (and very good odds of getting a good seat). AND the bar is lovely too!"

""Closer" play was great and actors were outstanding, every single one of them. You have to watch it to believe it. Apart from above, bar was average, seating were very uncomfortable to sit for 2 hours and place have an average look and feel. Wine quality was very poor and service was also average. This has to improve if they want to be one of the best in the city."

"The Lyric Hammersmith is a great venue. The bar staff are friendly and the bar is well stocked. There is plenty seating and on good weather days, the roof terrace is lovely. The bar does serve hot drinks, but only until early evening so I couldn't get a coffee before I went to see the play last night. The auditorium is a Victorian one with stalls, dress circle and upper circle. The seats are quite close together so if you have very long legs, you'll need to pick your aisle seat carefully as they don't all have better legroom because of the pillars. The seats are not the most comfortable I've ever sat in at the theatre so if that's an issue for you, take a small cushion with you! Sight lines from the stalls and circle are great (I've never sat right at the top), and the seats are staggered so you shouldn't have a head directly in front of you. The range of productions on offer do vary a lot in quality and style. I e seen some brilliant things there and some that just didn't hit the spot. But to have a good repertory theatre in a residential neighbourhood is amazing in this day and age, and something to be nurtured and cherished."
