"Maxim Chinese may not look like much from the outside, but the food is top-notch. Despite its location on a rough part of the old Barking Road, the restaurant serves delicious Chinese food. The beef in blackbean sauce is a standout dish, with tender and flavorsome meat. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant and will be returning for more of their excellent dishes."

"This is not the first time ordering here and its absolutley horrible. Found a piece of METAL probably from the washing scourer inside the rice. ALSO found a piece of plastic inside the Chow Mein. Stabbed inside my gums and caused bleeding. I highly reccomend you DO NOT visit this shop as its absolute trash. Food has no flavour and the attitude is disgusting as much as the food. If you know what is good do not order from this place. Just imagine ingesting a piece of metal and what the consequences of that would be. Will be calling up trading standards to report this"
