Marsh Lane Convenience Store
Nature's Basket
“I’ve been going to Natures Basket now for what feels like forever. I purchase the large fruit and veg box on a standing order and it’s amazing quality and value for money. The shop is always so clean and clearly labelled and offers such a large range of produce that I can’t find anywhere else. Hanny is fantastic, always smiling and so knowledgable about all the products, benefits and how to prepare/cook for best results. Really happy that I found this shop when I did - highly recommend!!”

“I would like to say a massive 'thank you' to GWEN! She was wonderful! I was feeling faint due to an on going illness. Anyway, I did my shopping - went to the till point - started unloading onto the conveyor belt. Unfortunately, as I repeatedly bent down to pick items out of my trolley - l felt woozy and lightheaded. As time went on, I could feel myself wanting to faint - to blackout. I was scared that an ambulance would be called and I would end up in A&E. (This has happened before in another retail store - sadly the shop assistants and manager were insensitive and uncaring. I ended up loosing my all my shopping after I had paid for it. It got lost/stolen in all the kerfuffle.) Other customers were queueing up. I could not keep up with loading the conveyor. I was so embarrassed. I took a minute - I then tried to pack away on my own - so self-consciously - I refused GWEN's offer of help. However, GWEN saw that I was deteriorating so remained at my side which was great because I finally had to surrender and asked her to finish my packing. I was feeling worse and so tried leaning back on the wall but that was not helping. GWEN, kept asking me how I was doing - to gage further assistance. GWEN got another member of staff to get me some bottled water and a seat. Praises be to God almighty for this lady! I am so grateful that GWEN did not just walk off after I politely refused her help. When people go out of their way - when they truly do not have to - I believe that their effort should be recognised, acknowledged and rewarded. So, much thanks, GWEN. Your genuine kindness, professionalism and intuitive support is greatly appreciated. FAO - Home Bargins Management: GWEN is a tremendous credit to your store. Your marketing department can do all they like to advertise the benefits of getting customers to come in and spend their hard earned cash. The best incentive to loyalty shopping in your stores is the quality of the types of people you choose to employ. Your staff are living - walking inducements for your business. Asda, on the other side of the Stafford Road, Wolverhampton - has reduced their stock to compete with Home Bargins and B&M. Nothing will make me go to Asda and part a huge chunk of change. I might pick up the odd item but the bulk of my goods will be obtained from Home Bargins. Being treated with real care has locked in my shopping allegiance. I will continue to spend upwards of £200 plus in Home Bargins because of the excellence that I experienced at your store on this occasion and on two previous instances which I should have noted. GWEN, hun - you rock. Bless you.”

The Company Shop
“Company shop is located on the old British federal estate and is a brand new building with a lot of space. Getting to company shop is easy to get to. From Birmingham or Wolverhampton direction it's on the a4123 Birmingham new road and is literally a stones throw from black Country museum so it's easy to locate. With large security fencing, the car park is quite large and always more than enough space no matter what time you go there. To shop there, you have to be a member and not everyone can be accepted. You have to either work in certain sectors or be in receipt of certain benefits to be accepted. Once inside, it's very large and spacious with very helpful, friendly staff who we help you should you need to. There's always someone on hand to help no matter what it is. The quality of goods is very high, and 99% of the goods are always well in date with some great deals always on display. They sell a lot of branded items as well as shop own brand at really cheap prices that's suitable for everyone's pocket. You have to go regularly as deals change all the time with new stock arriving all the time and they don't stay on the shelves for long either. It's well worth a visit to see what's for sale on that day wether it's fresh food or tinned or toiletries. If your looking to see if they stock certain things, give them a ring first. Once you have joined, visit their Facebook page for all the latest items that arrive and deals.”
ALDI
“First-time shop in Aldi found several products I usually buy a lot cheaper and own products just as good regular branded. Will use it, no problem.”
Tesco Superstore
“Good size tesco supermarket. Has pretty much everything you would need for a weekly shop. Not the cheapest of the supermarkets. Has petrol station on site. Also has a KFC next to it incase you get hungry while out shopping. Good parking. Although the lanes are narrow and can make parking annoying when cars. Also has cashpoints outside in case you want to withdraw some money”
Fighting Cocks Supermarket
“Great family run supermarket, excellent fresh meat counter with a wide choice if meats and some fish.”
