Devils Island Lighthouse
● OpenDevils Island Lighthouse is a historic tourist attraction located in Wisconsin, United States. It was completed in 1891 and became an important beacon along the Apostle Islands. The lighthouse features a two-story red brick Queen Anne-style keeper's dwelling and a steel cylinder tower standing at 82 feet tall. Originally designed as a plain cylinder, the tower was reinforced in 1914 to withstand the high winds of its exposed location. The lighthouse at Devils Island is the only one among the Apostle Islands to still retain its original Fresnel lens. While the lightkeepers were eventually replaced by automation in 1978, the lighthouse continues to serve as a reminder of the brave men and women who tended these remote outposts.
