Forest nature reserve in Elkhorn, Wisconsin

Petersen Island Woods Preserve, operated by the Kettle Moraine Land Trust, is a stunning park and tourist attraction located on Oak Park Road in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, United States. The KMLT serves all of Walworth County, working to protect important natural resources for both present and future generations. Throughout the year, local conservation organizations conduct controlled burns of woodlands, prairies, wetlands, and other habitats to help maintain the health of the ecosystem.
