First-year students are eligible to live in Grimm Hall, which includes those in their first two semesters of college after graduating from high school. Nearby amenities include Rodli Hall, parking lot O, sand volleyball courts, basketball courts, and a spacious lawn for recreational activities. The hall is named after former Board of Regent Judge Jay Grimm.

Stratton Hall is a co-ed residence located at 581 Spruce Street in River Falls, Wisconsin. With a capacity of approximately 120 students, this residence is open to students of all ages. The hall is unique in that it is co-ed by room, meaning that students of different genders may be living in rooms next to each other. Each floor has a male and female community bathroom. Residents of Stratton Hall have access to parking lots E and K, a sand volleyball court, campus trails, the Falcon Center, and downtown River Falls. The hall is named after former Academic Dean Charles G. Stratton.
