Virginia Point Park is a beautiful park and tourist attraction located in Kenova, West Virginia. The park features the historic Dreamland Pool, which was once the largest swimming pool in the United States east of the Mississippi River. Visitors can enjoy swimming in the Olympic size pool or the shallow kiddie pool, as well as playing tennis or basketball on the courts. The park also has an amphitheater, dressing rooms, and food courts for visitors to enjoy. The Dreamland Pool was first opened in 1926 and featured a three-story pavilion with a dance floor where famous Big Bands performed in the 1930s and 1940s. Although a fire destroyed the pavilion in 1972, the pool survived and was conveyed to the City of Kenova in 1973. The Kenova Parks & Recreation Board now oversees the operation of the pool.
