Founded by West Virginia University alumna Lauren Kayal, Sugar Bar is a family-owned and operated local business. Together with her husband Bron, Lauren also owns Harma, a food service and management company that develops and operates a diverse portfolio of restaurant brands. Their mission is to positively influence every life they touch, enriching the lives of both their employees and customers.

"It’s good but there’s literally zero variety. This place is easy to get bored with. When I came here on Sunday, the cases were just empty. Every time I’m here they only have the basic desserts like red velvet cupcakes, vanilla cupcakes, sugar cookies, and cheesecake. Need to switch up and bake different things. But again, the desserts are good."
"Just went here and had the best experience ever! Customer service was so great. I am gluten free and they had multiple options I could choose so I got a few and they were so good which is usually not the case for gluten free and it’s hard to find gluten free options at most places! They also had decaf coffee and that was one of the best coffees I’ve had in a while. Absolutely going to be a regular now & I saw they had some really cool drinks to try so I’m excited!"
"Was greeted as soon as I opened the door. The space was clean and cute. The service was quick and the sweets delicious. I ordered 2 Canoli's, 3 Lavender Lemon Macroons and 3 Lemon w/ Lemon Curd Macroons. All was delectable and I'll definitely be coming back."
"While in Morgantown yesterday, my bf & I spotted this bakery and stopped in. It's very conveniently located in the Suncrest Towne Centre shopping area! The interior bakery decor is very chic. We stopped in around 5pm, so they didn't have a ton of items left - but still enough of a selection for us to find some good stuff. The employee who waited on me was polite and patient. We settled on two pumpkin chocolate chip cookies & a pumpkin cinnamon roll. The cookies were MASSIVE, looking more like a muffin top than a cookie. They were packed full of chocolate chips & very decadent. Definitely need a good cup of coffee to go with all of that chocolate. We haven't tried the cinnamon roll yet, but it was also huge and looked really good. This bakery is definitely worth a stop to try it out!"
