Palm Room
● ClosedThe Palm Room is a unique glass-enclosed structure located at 465 Lodge Drive, Wheeling, West Virginia, United States. Situated on the historic Hilltop of Oglebay, it is adjacent to the Club House and the Welcome Center. Guests can enjoy a video introducing them to the various activities available in the park, as well as explore a photo exhibit showcasing the transition of Waddington Farm to the park we know today. The Palm Room features lush decorative plantings and connects the greenhouses to the Garden Bistro, which is open seasonally from May through early October. Built in 1905 by Lord & Burnham Architects, the Palm Room was originally used to house exotic plants belonging to Sallie Oglebay. Today, it showcases year-round, seasonal, and thematic installations with a mix of historic and modern elements. Visitors can easily access the Palm Room by taking exit 5 (WV-88/Elm Grove/Triadelphia) or exit 4 (WV-88/Elm Grove) and following the directions to the Wheeling Park entrance.

Cockayne Farmstead
● ClosedLocated at 1111 Wheeling Avenue in Glen Dale, West Virginia, the Cockayne Farmstead is a historic museum and tourist attraction that offers visitors a unique glimpse into the past. Owned by the City of Glen Dale and operated in partnership with the Marshall County Historical Society, this 1850 farmhouse has been preserved in time, with the last major renovation taking place around the turn of the 20th century. Visitors can explore the interior of the house, which is filled with original items collected by four generations of the Cockayne family. The collection spans three centuries, ending with the death of the last owner in 2001, and includes over 3000 objects and 15,000 documents. Guided tours are available Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with walk-in tours welcome. Groups are encouraged to give advance notice, especially for groups over 10 people.
