University Of Washington Tacoma - Walsh Gardner Building
● OpenThe University of Washington Tacoma - Walsh Gardner Building is located at 1908 Pacific Avenue in Tacoma, Washington, United States. This historic building was originally designed by architect Carl A. Darmer for Walsh & Gardner, a company that supplied pipes, valves, fittings, and fixtures to shipbuilders. The four-story brick building features reinforced concrete sidewalls, a unique feature that sets it apart from its older brick and timber counterparts. In 1920, the building was acquired by former employees of Walsh & Gardner and became home to the American Plumbing and Steam Supply Company. Today, the building is part of the University of Washington Tacoma campus and has undergone a renovation in 1996 by McGranahan Architects of Tacoma and Miller Hull Architects of Seattle.
