"I'm sure Dr. Reed is a great surgeon, I know several people who raved about her, but I went in another direction. She was very kind and spent a long time answering my questions during the first visit, however, I was not given a clear picture of all of the options. I was given the options *she* could perform and it was implied that those were the only options. Options to safely save my nipple, delayed sentinel node biopsy, and nerve preservation/Resensation were not discussed even after I expressed my concerns about these issues. After getting multiple opinions, I was able to safely have all three of those options. On one hand, I can't really blame her for only offering what she could provide, but on the other hand, I think patients deserve accurate information about all of the options. I also find it strange that she seems to only refer to one plastic surgeon who seems to only perform one kind of reconstruction. There are many options for reconstruction as well. It was kind of like "this is the plastic surgeon you're going to.""

"Dr. Reed is my primary breast care physician and is currently monitoring me twice annually for breast cancer screenings, ultrasounds of the breast and breast MRIs. I was happy she took me on as a patient when I was diagnosed at 27 with BRCA 2 mutation and she has worked with me carefully to construct a monitoring plan we can both live with. She and her nurse, Sam, submit annual paperwork to get my breast MRIs approved and always work well with me around my schedule and return calls to assist. Dr. Reed is a fierce and firey personality and she makes me laugh. She says what she thinks and she does not sugarcoat anything. I enjoy our quick visits and feel great knowing she is a part of my team as I monitor my health until/if I am ready to do anything more serious."

"I consulted with three breast cancer specialists and hands down there was no question Dr. Reed was the best choice. She performed my mastectomy and was the most wonderful, skilled and empathetic doctor I could have asked for. She is considered the best of the best in breast cancer care and surgery in the Hampton Roads region and I highly recommend her to anyone going through breast cancer. It's a very scary time for most of us and Dr. Reed's knowledge and positive energy made a difficult time immeasurably better."

"Dr. Van Sant (of Blessed Memory) ordered my first mammogram in 1990 and had a biopsy. I then started seeing Dr. Hoffman. Had another biopsy in 2002. When Dr. Hoffman was getting to retire, he told me that I would be seeing Dr. Reed. She said that the lump was under my chest bone and removed it under general anesthesia. It was not cancerous. I have a mammogram every six months and see Dr. Reed the same day. Dr. Reed is extremely knowledgeable in understanding the breasts. She has a great personality, is always upbeat and has a genuine care for her patients. She is the BEST!!"
