Legends Park
Legends Park, located at 1614 Defense Road in Petersburg, Virginia, is a 330 acre park with a rich history. In a public/private partnership with the Wilcox Watershed Conservancy, the City Council adopted a master plan to preserve the park and enhance it with public improvements and educational programs. With 18 developed acres and the remaining land left natural, Legends Park offers a variety of amenities such as Wilcox Lake, picnic shelters, walking trails, Cooper Memorial Baseball Field, a bath house, and wildflower sanctuaries. Future plans include extended walking trails, gardens, an environmental education center, and additional public improvements like bridges and overlooks.
