The Embassy of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in Washington, D.C. is the official representative of the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in the United States of America. The embassy provides a variety of services including the promotion of trade, investment, and tourism, as well as passport, visa, and consular services. These services extend to assisting nationals with legalizing documents, verifying the authenticity of medical certificates, interviewing applicants for permanent residence in Trinidad and Tobago, and processing applications for the restoration of Trinidad and Tobago citizenship. Additionally, the embassy is responsible for verifying documents related to the shipment of human remains.

The jurisdiction of the Embassy of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in Washington, D.C. encompasses the United States of America, the United Mexican States, and the Organization of American States. It oversees the Consulates General of Trinidad and Tobago in New York and Miami, as well as the Honorary Consuls in Texas and Puerto Rico. The embassy exercises consular jurisdiction in numerous states across the U.S., including but not limited to Washington, D.C., California, Florida, New York, Texas, and Puerto Rico.

The Cultural Section of the embassy is dedicated to promoting the rich and diverse culture of Trinidad and Tobago. It provides informational materials, coordinates cultural events, and engages with the public through presentations and the Embassy Adoption Program, which educates middle school students in Washington, D.C. about Trinidad and Tobago.

The Student Section assists students sponsored by the Government of Trinidad and Tobago to study in the U.S., acting as a liaison between the students, their institutions, and the government. This section also provides guidance on visa issues for Trinidad and Tobago students in the U.S. and assists students from other countries who wish to study in Trinidad and Tobago.

The Immigration Department is responsible for managing applications and services related to passports and visas. This includes applications for the first issuance and renewal of Machine-Readable Passports (MRP), as well as handling lost, stolen, or mutilated passports, and repatriation of human remains. Applications must be submitted in person by appointment or via mail, depending on the service required.
