Gallastar Equine Center, located at 3309 Irish Road in Esmont, Virginia, is not just a center for therapeutic horseback riding, but also home to Ranger's Refuge, a non-profit animal sanctuary housing over 200 rescued animals. Since 1994, Gallastar has been dedicated to serving young people with cognitive and emotional difficulties through horseback riding therapy, while Ranger's Refuge focuses on rescuing and providing forever homes for animals, with a main focus on pigs. The recent Gallastar Open House event was a huge success, with nearly 100 visitors attending from various locations to support the sanctuary and its residents. Funds raised during the event will go towards veterinary bills and winter hay for the animals, including Peanut the pig.
