Historic site to visit in Locust Grove, Virginia

The Historic Germanna Visitor Center, located at 2062 Germanna Highway in Locust Grove, Virginia, is a museum, park, and travel agency that connects communities with Virginia's past and present through its historic, natural, and cultural resources. The institution offers a variety of activities and events, such as the Siegen Forest Conservation Celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Germanna Ford Public Boat Launch. Visitors can participate in archaeological and historical activities, nature and history walks, kayak launching, hands-on activity stations, and enjoy local food vendors. Historic Germanna has recently received a grant from the Virginia Museum of History & Culture's Commonwealth History Fund, allowing them to continue their important work. The institution is also recruiting Excavation Interns for the upcoming season, providing individuals with the opportunity to gain experience in archaeological work.
