"Store was a complete mess and trashed. Product thrown around on every shelf. It was hard to find what you needed because everything was out of place. I have never seen a store look as rough as this one did. On a good note the cashier was nice."

"At 1:30 pm on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend I stopped at this store to find a " Closed for Delivery Will Reopen Soon" sign on the front doors. I stopped back several times and the store was still closed one hour later. Unfortunately there are not many alternatives in this area. I saw at least 30 customers leave disappointed while I waited. It looks like I'm driving to Heathsville."

"This was the first location I started working at. The store was a disaster and there was no structure in place until myself and some other employees started complaining about the work environment; only then, did anything get better for the store. Over time the boss and assistant manager were sleeping together, relationship drama from them were brought into the store and work only got worse. Eventually the A.M. quit which was a relief for all of us and we continued to work. Dollar General and it’s managers (especially the District Manager for this location) expect you to work endless hours and only give the store extra hours or let’s it slide when the company screws it’s employees over with the freezer/cold truck that is always late or they send a ton of overstock that only gets thrown away anyways or when stocking gets backed up. I can say with 100% certainty that this was the worst company I have ever worked for. Despite it being customer service, many customers at this location are rude and emotionally abusive- you are expected to take it from anyone and the company will not do anything for physical abuse or threats either. The district manager is condescending and manipulative. This company DOES NOT care for its employees. Do not work for Dollar General. Starting pay at this location is roughly $9.50-$9.75 for Cashiers (must be 18+) and $10-$10.50 for Key Holder (A cashier with keys expected to do everyone’s work for minimum pay). Kilmarnock and even Warsaw, Callao (etc.) businesses are hiring at $11+ for food industry, customer service, or just about any other better industry with HALF of the work load. Don’t waste your time."

"The store has really came a long way! Glad to see changes being made. This store is always trashed. I have witnessed workers unboxing merchandise and leaving in yellow carts for customers to go through instead of putting on shelves. The manager is constantly complaining instead of working to get the store in order. She keeps headphones in and when you ask a question she will get an attitude, like I am inconveniencing her. There are two employees there that do work hard but it would take management to step up."

"Store is always a mess! Never properly stocked. The staff is young and all act very unprofessional. I also found out through one of the employees the manager (little blonde) has felony charges. What the he'll kind of people are working here? I love DG stores and this one is closest to me but I hate to even go in now. Super dissapointing!"
