New Freedom Farm, Inc. is a nonprofit community farm located in Buchanan, Virginia, dedicated to aiding veterans and first responders who may be struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), substance use, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and other conditions. Through therapeutic activities such as interacting with equines, farming, and peer-to-peer support, the farm aims to empower individuals and help them heal by recognizing their efforts and contributions. New Freedom Farm heals heroes through horses, providing a space for veterans and first responders to develop deep friendships, foster physical, emotional, and spiritual health, and assist with reintegration into civilian life. The Board of Directors is implementing exciting changes to enhance the organization's impact, including a renewed focus on mission, streamlined operations, new programs and initiatives, transparency, strengthened partnerships, and engaged governance. The farm will be closed through early January 2024, with plans to reopen with new initiatives and opportunities for involvement.
